ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Climate Change would submit a new forest policy before the Cabinet to promote and preserve forests, Minister for Climate Change Senator Mushahidullah Khan Monday told Senate on Monday.
Speaking on a resolution moved by Senator Mohsin Aziz of PTI, he said Climate Change Policy has also been framed in view of the serious environmental challenges.
He urged media, civil society to play their role in preserving forests. Meanwhile, the Senate has unanimously passed a resolution expressing serious concern over involvement of foreign intelligence agencies in fomenting terrorism in the country.
The resolution moved by Lt Gen (r) Abdul Qayyum in the house, recommended that effective steps should be taken to counter the activities of these agencies.
He appreciated Pakistani intelligence agencies for performing outstanding job. However, he said there are consistent reports about involvement of foreign agencies including India's RAW in destabilizing Pakistan.
