imageISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Egr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman on Thursday said the federal government has set a target to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) by 2030 in collaboration with the provinces.

He was addressing a press conference here Thursday at the end of the 7th Inter Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) at Higher Education Commission.

The Minister said that Sustainable Development Goals, Minimum National Curriculum, Minimum Standards of Education, Revised National Education Policy 2016, Waseela e Taleem by BISP, Use of ICT, and Advanced Quality Learning Programme etc were discussed in the conference.

He said that use of ICT was a modern tool in the developed countries adding that "we will review its positive and negative aspects and then it would be implemented in the country".

The minister said the conference has reviewed difference of quality of education being provided by the federal and provincial boards and added the habit of rotting system would be eliminated from the educational institutions with the help of all boards.

The state minister said that non-formal education program would also be initiated in the small villages of rural areas with the help of communities.

He said that through Waseela e Taleem Programme the financial support for the education of the children in the country has been increased 1 to 2 million.

Enrollment drive in the country has also been observed through which out of school children would be bringing back, he said.

The National Education Standards has been implemented adding that the steps has been taken at federal and provincial level to achieve minimum standards for quality education.

Baligh ur Rahman said " the conference demanded of the federal government for a "Teacher Training Institute" in the capital for the modern training of the teachers from all over the country.

Education Minister AJK appreciated the efforts of Baligh ur Rahman for the promotion of education in the country and assured his full support to achieve these goals.

Education Minister KPK said that the issues of Pakistan can only be resolved by the promotion of education adding that the provincial government would renovate all public schools.

Education Minister Balochistan said "It is high time that we should start working on the recommendations of these conferences as we are answerable to the people."

Education Minister Gilgit Baltistan on the occasion said that the GB was newly established province and added "I have learn a lot from this conference.

Chairman Higher Education Commission(HEC) Dr Mukhtar Ahmad on the occasion said that the targets set by the conference were really amazing and added "i am hopeful that these goals would be achieved".
