SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) and budget carrier Tiger Airways suspended trading of their shares at the local stock market Thursday pending an announcement.
Their filings with the Singapore Exchange did not give any reason for the suspension, but Dow Jones Newswires reported that Tiger was planning a rights issue that could see the carrier raise at least Sg$100 million ($83 million).
SIA owns 32.84 percent of Tiger.
