Sheikh Zayed International School, Islamabad held first inter-school speech declamation contest at school campus here on Saturday morning.
The Chief Guest of on the occasion was Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H E Ali S Awadh Asseri along with Shaukat A Reshi, head of Sarcorp (Pvt) Ltd, the sponsors of the event.
Other guests included the diplomats from various embassies, parents of the students, and teachers of participating schools.
The schools participating in the contest included the City School, Beaconhouse Public School, Headstart School and Islamabad Grammar School.
The panel of judges consisted of Mrs Shireen Mazari, Director General Institute of Strategic Studies, Mrs Naghma Durrani of Educacy Foundation, and Dr Tom Craig, Director British Council, Islamabad.
The Saudi ambassador in his speech thanked Reshi and Sarcorp for making possible the holding of such an event.
Shaukat Reshi in his speech said that Sarcorp has a history of supporting community education programmes and this declamation contest was a part of its and that SARCORP in future would also participate in such activities.
Later on, prize distribution ceremony was held with Beaconhouse School winning maximum number of first prizes.
