Gas supply to upcountry was restored by the engineering staff of Sui Southern Gas Company, (SSGC) after repairing of 18 feet long main pipeline near Tangwani town, on the border of Sindh and Balochistan, about 100km away from here on Sunday.
Company sources said that some miscreants had damaged the main gas supply line near Tangwani in the early hours on Sunday following which gas supply to a large number of towns of Punjab was affected. After the incident SSGC staff from Shikarpur rushed to the spot.
A strong contingent of Rangers was also deployed around the area, after which the repair work was carried out.
The spokesman said that the gas supply to Punjab has now been fully restored.
He said that the law-enforcement agencies have picked up some people on the charges of sabotaging the gas pipeline.
