Hussain Ahmed Ozgen, President, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has termed the four-nation visit of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali successful and a boost to Pakistan's socio-economic structure saying it will restore the confidence of investors.
"The Prime Minister's tour of Laos, China, Cambodia and Thailand has opened new venues for Pakistani traders besides attracting foreign investors to Pakistan". He said while talking to newsmen here on Sunday. Better trade relations between Pakistan and the Far Eastern countries would help create a better atmosphere for exchange of the experiences to get benefit, RCCI chief said.
Terming the visit a turning point in Pakistan's external relations, he said besides providing a boost to country's economy, it will help in gaining the confidence of the investors from these countries on economic policies of Pakistan. "It will be helpful in all manners and bring socio-economic stability in the country", he added.
There are many venues of investment between these countries, if explored it will benefit all the countries an attaining the goals of economic stability, Ozgen said and urged on business community to play their effective role to enhance trade ties between these countries.
He said that these countries have huge investment potential in the field of science and technology, construction, tourism and food processing sectors. Smooth co-operation in these fields could yield better results not only for the them, but for other countries of the region, he added.
"It is irony of fate that these countries in spite of having cordial and fraternal relations, could not make good trade relations and failed to get benefit from one another", RCCI chief said adding that all these countries including Pakistan are depending on the European countries and it is in best interest of all to enhance mutual trade ties.
Although our quality is good but unfortunately marketing is not proper, this area needs due consideration, he added.
He called for exchange of trade delegations, organising single country exhibitions and arranging trade seminars will help increase trade between these countries.
