The Foreign Office has received information that the Macedonian administration has issued warrants for the arrest of Ljube Boskovski who, as Interior Minister, was involved in the killing of six Pakistanis and one Indian national.
Foreign Office spokesman Masood Khan said that Pakistan's Ambassador in Ankara, Sher Afgan Khan who hold current charge of the mission in Skopje, was in touch with the Macedonian Foreign Office in this connection.
Boskovski and his six security officials "stand accused of staging a fake ambush on a group of migrant travellers near its border with Bulgaria and after smuggling them into Macedonia, had put them before a firing squad".
The spokesman said that Pakistan has asked for a copy of the inquiry report in the killings.
Masood told journalists that he had spoken to Pakistan's Ambassador in Ankara who had told him that the Macedonian Parliament had withdrawn immunity enjoyed by the former interior minister Boskovski.
After issuing warrants of arrest, Macedonian border security forces have been alerted to watch out against any attempt by Boskovski to flee the country, Masood said quoting Sher Afgan as saying.
Pakistan's diplomats have also requested for "speedy identification of the victims so that their bodies could be brought to Pakistan for final burial".
Sher Afgan, according to Masood, had been to Skopje and met the current Interior Minister of Macedonia and conveyed concerns of Pakistan over the reports of killings of innocent Pakistanis.
Masood Khan said that Pakistan had protested to the United States for intrusion by its troops from Afghanistan into Pakistan's territory. The Americans, he said, had replied that since the border was not firmly demarcated they did not realise that their pursuit of wanted persons had led them into Pakistani territory.
Masood said that Pak-Afghan is porous and people not familiar with the area could stray.
The spokesman denied reports that some Pakistan nationals were involved in some terrorist incidents reported from Turkey. He denied that Turkish authorities had arrested any Pakistani national for involvement in any terrorist act.
