Secretary Interior Tasneem Noorani has said top priority will be given to the security of Gwadar and foreigners working there.
He was speaking during his visit to Gwadar port site to condole with the Chinese, on behalf of President Musharraf and Prime Minister Jamali.
He assured that those responsible for this heinous crime would soon be apprehended. Noorani said, "our assessment is that the attack was not directed against Chinese but was the ugly work of the people who do not want Pakistan to prosper."
Secretary Interior informed the gathering that a high level delegation has proceeded to Beijing to take part in the funeral of the Chinese who lost their lives in Gwadar.
He briefed them about the steps being taken to beef up the security for HEC staff.
Sun Ziyn assured Noorani of all help from Chinese people and government and said that such attacks will never damage the relationship between Pakistan and China.
He said that the company had resumed work immediately after the incident as a gesture of high esteem that China holds with Pakistan. Later, the Secretary Interior chaired a high-level meeting on the law and order of Balochistan in Gwadar.
The meeting was attended among others by District Nazim Gwadar, DG Coast Guards, DIG Frontier Corps Balochistan, Deputy Director General Maritime Security Agency (MSA), Officer Commanding Naval Marines, Chairman Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) and representatives of Gwadar Development Authority and Makran Scouts.
Tasneem Noorani directed the various security agencies in Balochistan to improve co-ordination in operation and clearly determine their areas of responsibility.
The IGP Balochistan was directed to speed up the pace of investigation and keep liaison with the officials of HEC on a regular basis.
The MSA has been asked to provide more boats for security the West Bay while government of Balochistan will be requested to provide similar security to the East bay.
