District and Session Judge Karachi Central Syed Pir Ali Shah on Friday adjourned hearing against Asif Ali Zardari, husband of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, in Justice Nizam Ahmed murder case.
The matter, which was fixed on Friday for indictment of Asif Zardari and other co-accused, could not proceed as defence counsel of accused Javed Pirzada sought adjournment due to ailment of his client.
The court fixed May 21, 2004 for indictment of accused. Asif Zardari was brought central jail Karachi amid tight security.
Asif Zardari along with other co-accused Bilal Sheikh, Javed Akhtar Pirzada and Babar Sindhu are being tried for their alleged involvement in killing case of ex-High Court's judge and his son.
Justice Nizam Ahmed, a former judge of Sindh High Court, and his son Nadeem Ahmed, a lawyer, were shot dead in an attack on June 10, 1996 out side their house at PECHS area.
Meanwhile, the court issued notice to State counsel for Saturday on miscellaneous application filed by Asif Zardari's counsel seeking medical treatment of his client as suggested in medical board report.
