German premium carmaker BMW AG expects to expand its Spartanburg plant in South Carolina to include a third model line, BMW's production boss Norbert Reithofer told German weekly Automobilwoche.
In an interview to be published on Monday, Reithofer said "the probability doesn't suggest that this factory will always only build two model lines."
He added that the carmaker was considering raising its production capacity to 200,000 vehicles or more from a capacity now of around 160,000 units.
