Dull trading witnessed on commodity markets

Truncated by two-day the week ended on May 8, 2004, saw lethargic trading on the wholesale commodity markets where sales comprised of certain items with religious tinge.
However, changes were marked in various items like, plastic mouldings, milk, til, Urad Burma, Guwar, Kirana items, Sela Karnal, yellow peas, beetle chana I and beetle chana 50x50.
Details of the variations are beetle chana I twice revised but was quoted down last at Rs 1860 and Rs 1905, and beetle chana 50x50 revised twice was last quoted inferior down Rs 1740 and Rs 1775, yellow peas inferior down Rs 35 to Rs 1615 and better down Rs 45 to Rs 1640, guwar also revised twice to be last seen down Rs 1375 and Rs 1400, bajra inferior up Rs 50 to Rs 1100, and better up same amount to Rs 1150, til Sindh up Rs 50 to Rs 1750, and better quoted at Rs 2000. Urad Burma up Rs 50 to Rs 675 and better quoted at Rs 735, Sela Karnal, quoted Rs 2800 and better down Rs 100 to Rs 2900, and cotton cakes up Rs 5 to Rs 500 and better quoted at Rs 540.
PLASTIC MOULDINGS: HDPE film Saudia 952 up 25 paisa to Rs 35.25, Mobil up same amount to Rs 35.25, and TR144 up 43 paisa to Rs 34.93, LLDPE W118 amount to Rs 35.25, PP tape grade India up 63 paisa to Rs 34.50, Kuwait up same amount to Rs 34.50, and Saudia up 63 paisa to Rs 34.50. Milk powder, skimmed Haleeb SMP up Rs 100 to Rs 3750, Halla SMP up sharply quoted at Rs 3750, Euro Gold down Rs 50 to Rs 3900, Corolac down Rs 50 to Rs 4100 and Lucky Bay quoted at Rs 1575.
TEAS: from Kenya PF-1 A grade up Rs 2 to Rs 220, B grade up Re 1 to Rs 215, D-1, A grade up Rs 3 to Rs 225, Dust A grade up Rs 2 to Rs 152, B grade down Rs 3 to Rs 142, and plus C grade down Rs 5 to Rs 120, and Bangladesh's Garden Pack BOP down Rs 2 to Rs 100.
KIRANA ITEMS: Vietnam's black pepper up Rs 25 to Rs 4125, nutmeg up Rs 20 to Rs 8280, big cardamom down Rs 200 to Rs 9600, dry ginger from China up Rs 100 to Rs 3200, gum gogal up Rs 300 to Rs 4500, Sago up Rs 25 to Rs 1100, cuminseed up Rs 100 to Rs 2900, and darchini up Rs 50 to Rs 2575, and dry fruit items pistachio up Rs 200 to Rs 1520.
