France outgunned Malaysia by four goals to one on Day 7 of the World Cup hockey qualifying tournament here on Tuesday. For France, Nicolas Gaillard in the 15th minute, Julien Boyer in the 24th minute, Frederic Soyez with a penalty corner conversion in the 51st minute and Sabastien Jean-Jean in the 57th minute found the target while Malaysia's deficit reducer was netted by Ismail Abu in the 25th minute.
France of course were trying to stay in the running for a place in the top two but Malaysia needed points to secure their berth in the 5-8 playoffs.
At half time France enjoyed a two goals to one advantage at half-time.

Japan 4 beat China 2.

A sizeable crowd had found its way into the Wujin Sports Complex for the second game of the day, to see hosts China take on Japan. Both teams were trying to gather points in the race for the 5-8 playoff.
Korea 1 drew with New Zealand 1

Korea had the possibility of securing a place in the group's top two, and thus in the Monchengladbach World Cup, before tomorrow's last round of pool matches, while the Kiwis were out to improve their position in the battle for the top two spots before Wednesday's deciders.
