The line-up of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports rose to 73 from 71 a week ago, shipping agent Williams said. In a weekly report, Williams said 32 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, up from 28 a week ago. There were 14 vessels at Paranagua, off from 15 last week.
In North-eastern Brazil, there were 12 vessels at Maceio, up from 11 last week, and five at Recife, down from seven. The center-south, which accounts for 88 percent of national output, should finish harvesting a record crop in December. Santos port accounts for half the sugar tonnage being loaded in Brazilian ports.
