The Rahnuma Committee for Small & Medium Enterprises Welfare (RC-SMEW) submitted a proposal to Sinh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Sunday for rapid promotion and development of the SME sector in Sindh.
It pointed out that Punjab is much ahead and Sindh is far behind and needs to plan and programme schemes for the exploitation of vast resources lying untapped. The RC recommended development of industrial estates and establishment of Sindh bank for catering to the needs of SMEs. The Rahnuma Committee also emphasised the need for uninterrupting raw material supply agencies and collective marketing systems. It suggested the establishment of training institutes for operators, supervisors and managers.
The chief minister appreciated the proposals and asked for detailed feasibilities from the Rahnuma Committee for prompt action.-PR
