Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Amanullah Khan Jadoon on Wednesday said the government was giving priority to connect remote and backward areas with gas facility and ensuring availability of all basic amenities of life to the people living in every nook and corner of the country.
He was talking to a 25-member delegation of Nazims and elites from Circle Bakot of Abbottabad which called on him here to discuss provision of gas facility. Jadoon said the SNGPL has conducted a survey of 26 villages of Abbottabad district and earthquake affected areas of Muzaffarabad, Balakot, Bagh, and Rawala Kot to provide gas facility.
He said the gas supply to these areas would mitigate the sufferings of the people and help deforestation to great extent. The minister said the government was taking steps to develop the remote and backward areas aimed at bringing them at par with the developed areas of the country.
He said the government has allocated Rs 520 billion in the current fiscal year for the completion of public sector development projects, which would bring about revolutionary change in the life of the people.
The minister called upon the people to forge unity in their ranks and cooperate with the government in its efforts for the speedy completion of welfare-oriented projects.
The delegation apprised the minister of their problems for non-availability of natural gas facility in their area. They lauded the government's efforts for according high priority to the uplift of remote and backward areas and assured all out cooperation in this respect.
