Indian soyaoil futures edged higher on Monday, tracking Malaysian palm oil contracts and sporadic festival demand. At 3:33 pm (1003 GMT), the September soyaoil contract on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange was up 0.06 percent at 479.45 rupees ($11.8) per 10 kg, while October futures rose 0.16 percent to 479.10 rupees.
Prices in the spot market were up 0.4 percent on retail buying for local festivals, Bedridden Khan, senior research analyst at Angel Commodities Brooking Pvt Ltd, said. In Malaysia, the benchmark November palms oil futures rose 1.17 percent to 2,500 ringers ($714.3).
