The liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) marketing companies have increased prices of LPG by Rs 4.5 to Rs 62.50 per kilo and 11.8 kg cylinder by Rs 50 to Rs 680 on lower production by local producers ahead of Eid. According to LPG Distributors Association of Pakistan (LDAP) on Tuesday that local producers have reduced LPG production by 200 to 300 tonnes per day.
The LDAP chairman and FPCCI standing committee on petroleum vice chairman Abdul Hadi Khan alleged that marketing companies have taken advantage of the situation and raised prices. He said the price of 45.4-kg commercial cylinder has been increased by Rs 150. Hadi urged the government to ask LPG producers to bring down prices to Rs 25,000 per ton.
