Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (Muet) and University of Southampton, United Kingdom have signed MoU to exchange scientific, academic and technical information and academic materials. The Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr Alistair Fitt and Deputy Head of the International Office and Regional Director, University of Southampton visited Muet on August 6 to sign the MoU.
The agreement includes academic exchanges including mutual visits of faculty and school members to pursue research, deliver lecture and student exchange on a reciprocal basis.
The VC, Muet Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput (SI) in his presentation highlighted the achievements of Muet said that the University of Southampton is one of the top 10 research universities in the UK and has achieved consistently high scores for its teaching and learning activities.
The Southampton is a truly international institution with a global reputation for excellence in leading-edge research. Students from more than one hundred different nations study here and our network of university partnerships span the globe.
Southampton is a member of the World University Network that consists leading research institutions working to promote global research culture through collaborative academic activities. He further said Muet is honoured to work with one of the UK's leading universities.
Prof. Fitt in his speech appreciated Muet's efforts for signing MoU said that many goals and objectives including identifying opportunities for exchanges, co-operation, joint research and development in disciplines of mutual interest can be achieved under this international partnership programme.
To implement the collaborative activities envisaged under the MoU, representatives of University of Southampton and Muet would meet periodically to negotiate and conclude project agreements and programmes of co-operation.
