The Oil and Gas sector of Pakistan have great potential and scope for both foreign and local investors and government is offering incentives in this regard, said Waqar Ahmed Khan, Federal Minister for Investment here on Friday.
The Government is preparing a comprehensive and multi-pronged investment strategy to enhance foreign and local investments, the minister said while talking to reporters. He said that Chinese investors have shown keen interest in services and telecom sectors, while the investors from Middle East were also interested in joint ventures. Government intends to develop special industrial zones for Chinese investors in Punjab province.
He said that the government would provide special incentive packages to investors, who intend to do business in special export zones of the country. He said that the present government has offered investment-friendly environment to the investors in various fields to attract them.
The Minister called upon the investors to take optimum benefits of the opportunities and incentives and for socio-economic prosperity of the country. He said that vast opportunities were available for the exploration of oil and gas in Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan provinces, adding that investors have ample opportunities to invest in these sectors.
