The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) would meet on Saturday in the Planning Commission to consider around 45 development projects worth over Rs 100 billion. Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Salman Farooqui will chair the meeting and representative from all the four provinces, Northern Areas, Azad Kashmir, Fata and officials of the concerned departments will participate.
According to the PC sources, the meeting is likely to recommend 12 projects for transport and communication, four for water resources, 18 for energy, six for education, four for social welfare and women development and other 13 projects for miscellaneous sectors. It is also learnt that the meeting would recommend four development projects for HEC with total cost of Rs 1.816 billion. Allocation of Rs 9.4 million would be discussed for road and sewerage project to be spent in Multan.
