Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former test cricketer Muhammad Ilyas as chairman of national junior selection committee. The national junior selection committee is comprised of Muhammad Ilyas (chairman), Basit Ali, Furrukh Zaman, Ali Ahmad, Asif Baloch and Afzal Gujjar (members).
A PCB spokesman said here on Friday that junior selection committee will be responsible for selection of Ubder-15, Under-17 and Under-19 national teams. It is for the first time that former first class cricketers have been named selectors because we firmly believe they have ample experience of playing cricket at domestic level and can be good selectors to identify talent at grass root level, he said.
