As usual, Pakistan's most trustworthy and brotherly country Turkey responded immediately following the devastated earthquake in Balochistan to help the victims even in remote areas of the province.
Turkey, being one of the countries having experience of destructive effects of earthquakes and well aware of the importance of international solidarity in critical times stood by brotherly country Pakistan after the earthquake disaster in Balochistan.
Turkey has always been ready to do its utmost to provide assistance to its Pakistani brethren in difficult times, and decided to provide humanitarian assistance.
Within the framework of Turkey's assistance for Balochistan earthquake victims, Turkish Red Crescent Society (TRCS) has sent 10 steel container units worth one million dollars, each of them comprising 12 shelters, two kitchens, two bathroom sets, and two food storage for covering the long-term sheltering needs of the affected 120 families.
The convoy, comprising two communication cars and 20 long vehicles carrying 180 containers as well as 20 additional personnel of the TRCS to set up the prefabricated camps, arrived at the worst-hit area of Wam in Balochistan this week where the container camps will be set up.
Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Engin Soysal was personally present in Wam on the same day to hand over the containers to the local government. Balochistan Information Minister Muhammad Younas Mullazai accompanied Ambassador Soysal during his visit to the area. Ambassador Engin Soysal is the first ambassador in Pakistan to visit the earthquake-hit town in Balochistan and the TRCS has 31 personnel working on the area.
