A former federal minister, Ishaq Khan Khakwani, has asked ex-home minister of Sindh, Dr Zulfikar Mirza, to unveil the Murtaza Bhutto's assassination of 1996. In his statement, Ishaq said that Zulfikar Mirza should call a spade a spade, if his conscience has really awakened, and tell the nation truth about the murder of Murtaza Bhutto.
"Now he should not tell a lie. If he had forgotten this incident, then he must now recall some facts of this case." Khakwani said that Zulfikar Mirza's friends, like Siraj Durrani, Clifton SSP Wajid Durrani (now IGP Sindh) Major Masood Sharif Khattak (then Director-General, Intelligence Bureau) Tahir (then SSP), Shahid Hayat (then ASP), Dr Shoaib Saddal (then DIGP) in home ministry, can help him in recalling the entire story of the assassination.
He said that Dr Zulfikar Mirza is neither innocent nor mad, but he is a very cunning man, who is still very close to President Asif Ali Zardari. Khakwani said that 'tiger can never remove stripes from his body'. However, if he is sincere to bring any change in his life then he would have to take risk of his spouse's office, as Fahmida Mirza might be removed from speakership.
The former federal minister said that some people say good-bye to their past and adopt the 'Siraat-e-Mustaqueem'. If Mirza has reached such turn, then he should expose the killers of Murtaza. Khakwani said that Qaim Ali Shah is a powerless chief minister because 80 percent powers were in the hand of Zulfikar Mirza. He said that former Sindh minister--Dr Zulfiqar Mirza--has admitted that he had issued 300,000 arms licences among Sindhi people as he had urged them to use these weapons against the MQM. If they kill any Sindhi or other innocent, government should take notice of his statement.
