The University of Sindh will set up its FM Radio at department of Mass Communication to promote educational and academic programmes and train its graduates studying at the department. In this connection, a meeting was convened by Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Parveen Shah here on Monday, which was attended by Chairperson Department of Mass Communication Dr Rizwana Chang, Dr Mahmoodul Hassan Mughal, Manager FM 105 Ishrat Hussain, Mushtaq Bhatti and others.
The meeting discussed the way and means for setting up FM Radio station and also decided that the university would approach to National Public Radio (NPR) and USAID Education programme for necessary help. The meeting also discussed about getting financial support from the provincial and federal governments and philanthropists. It is pointed out that approximately Rs 5 million expenses are estimated for the establishment of FM Radio station. Meanwhile, acting Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Professor Dr Parveen Shah also visited Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair and Convention Centre at the campus and inspected the ongoing construction work.
She also inspected the ongoing construction work of the Convention hall and directed the project director for early completion of the construction. She pointed out that she had already requested the Sindh Chief Minister for the inauguration of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair and Convention Centre building.
