The Lahore High Court has sought replies from Punjab government and Water & Sanitation Authority (Wasa) by June 8 in a petition against non-provision of clean drinking water to the residents Baghbanpura. Petitioner, a Bar member, Muhammad Shahzad Ijaz contended that it was the responsibility of Wasa to provide clean drinking water to the citizens without discrimination but the people of his area were deprived of this facility.
He therefore prayed to the court to direct Wasa and other authorities to provide clean drinking water to all areas of the city and install water filtration plant in all union council level areas.
