Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that computerisation of land record is an important project and work on the project is going on speedily. He was presiding over a meeting to review the progress on land record computerization project here on Friday.
He disclosed that service centers would be inaugurated in Saddar, Lahore Cantt., Lodhran and Hafizabad within next two months whereas service centers will start functioning in other districts of the province by the end of the year. He expressed the hope that after completion of the project, people will get rid of corrupt mafia and it will also facilitate the people in getting ownership deed, transfer of land and other matters.
The Chief Minister said that he would himself preside over a meeting every month for early completion of this project. Shahbaz Sharif said that corruption is a menace and Pakistan cannot make progress without elimination of corruption. He said that on the one hand the people will get relief through land record computerisation project while on the other will also get rid of exploitative system. While constituting a committee consisting of revenue and technical experts, Shahbaz Sharif directed that this committee to evolve a strategy for ridding the people of the exploitative system.
