KARACHI: On Wednesday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee lost value against the dollar in both interbank and open markets. Against Euro, however, it exhibited the same behaviour as yesterday and lost value in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, after closing, Pakistan Rupee had lost 50 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.70 and 166.90 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, after closing, PKR had lost 50 paisas for buying and 40 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 166.70 and 167 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for buying while losing 50 paisas for selling closing at 193 and 195 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 20 paisas for buying and 40 paisas for selling closing at 45 and 45.40 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 30 paisas for buying and 57 paisas for selling closing at 44 and 44.47 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee-greenback parity stayed unchanged amid sluggish trading activity in the local currency market on Wednesday.
According to currency dealers, the greenback did not witness any change in its demand and supply situation throughout the trading session and it firmly closed at its opening rate for buying and selling at Rs 166.50 and Rs 168.00.
On the other hand, the local maintained downward slide for the third consecutive day against the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates improved from the Tuesday's closing of Rs 212.00 and Rs 213.50 to Rs 213.50 and Rs 214.50 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 10 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs167.10 (buying) and Rs 167.20(selling) against last rate of Rs167 (buying) and Rs 167.10(selling).
It closed at Rs167.10 (buying) and Rs 167.20(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs122,750 (selling) and Rs 122,500(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
