ISLAMABAD: The Central Power Generation Company Limited (CPGCL) Sunday suspended seven officials after they were found responsible for power breakdown in the preliminary inquiry.
According to an office order issued by Engineer Hammad Amer Hashmi, the Chief Executive Officer of CPGCL, Suhail Ahmed, Additional Plant Manager, Deedar Ali Channa, Junior Engineer, Ali Hassan Golo, Foreman, Ayaz Hussain Dahar, Operator, Saeed Ahmed Operator, Siraj Ahmed Memon, Attendant, and Ilyas Ahmed, Attendant, were placed under suspension “on account of the negligence of duty which caused electricity failure found in view of preliminary inquiry.”
All the seven officials were assigned to Guddu Power Plant that developed a technical fault causing countrywide power breakdown countrywide on the night falling between Saturday and Sunday. This led to different speculations. Partial power supply was restored in early hours of Sunday while reports from different parts across the country suggested that power supply was yet to be restored, till the filing of this report, Sunday evening.
