At least four people were killed in different incidents in city on Sunday, police and rescue sources said. A dacoit was gunned down by police in an encounter in New Karachi area in the limits of New Karachi Industrial Area. Police said that the police party signalled the motorcyclists to stop during snap checking, but they started firing on police mobile. On retaliation, one dacoit identified as Akbar Shah was killed.
Police also recovered a TT pistol from his possession. In another incident, a man was gunned down on petty issue in Machar Colony area in the limits of Mauripur police station. He was identified as Hussain Mohammad. Police said that two groups brawled on a petty issue which turned violent as a result Abdur Rehman killed.
Separately, Abdur Rehman killed in an attack during a clash in Muhammadi Colony in Nazimabad. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
