Development projects of billions of rupees under Post Crises Needs Assessment (PCNA) is moving forward within time frame that will result in improving governance, livelihood opportunities, provisions of basic services and counter terrorism with support of multi-donors.
The World Bank and donor agencies and other partners are engaged to monitor the progress of the Projects and these organisations are fully satisfied with the pace of work. According to the Implementation Support Unit (ISU) PCNA P&D department Government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, South Area Development Project is about to be launched in three crises-affected districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Laki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan and Tank for which the Multi-Donors Trust Funds has approved funds worth Rs 1,704 million.
The PCNA for KP and FATA was developed by the Asian Development Bank, European Union, World Bank and United Nations in collaboration with the provincial Government of KP and the FATA Secretariat with oversight by the Government of Pakistan.
To improve the governance in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the ISU PCNA KP initiated various projects including strengthening of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ombudsman Office worth 33.34 million, strengthening of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy worth 21.94 million, strengthening Anti-Corruption Establishment worth 22.25 million and Strengthening of Director General Monitoring and Evaluation of KP Government. Similarly, another project for revitalisation and strengthening the health services in six crises-affected districts of KP has been started with the tune of 25 million US dollars.
To improve the small scale businesses for livelihood opportunity a project of Economic Revitalisation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has been launched with the implementing partner the Industry Department and SMEEDA with the amount of Rs 1,118 million, which would be completed in 2015. Emergency Road Recovery Project from Sharifabad to Kanju (Swat) on the right bank of the river Swat is in the completion stage. Other Projects would be initiated in 2nd round of Multi-Donors Trust Funds.
