Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will embark on a two-day official visit from tomorrow (Thursday) to hold bilateral talks with Pakistani leadership focusing on political, strategic and economic co-operation. According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam, the Chinese Foreign Minister will lead an eight-member delegation to Pakistan for a two-day visit on February 12-13, 2015.
"Pakistan attaches great importance to its comprehensive strategic partnership with China. Such high-level visits are a regular feature of the time-tested and unshakeable bonds of friendship between the governments and peoples of Pakistan and China," she added.
During the visit, the spokesperson said that Foreign Minister Wang Yi would hold delegation-level talks with Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz. Chinese Foreign Minister will also call on the President and the Prime Minister. "Pakistan and China would review and further consolidate all aspects of the bilateral relationship, with a special focus on political, strategic and economic co-operation," she added.
She said that the visit would also afford an opportunity to both sides to have a free and frank exchange of views on regional and global developments of mutual interest. During the visit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad would also co-host the Launching Ceremony of Pakistan-China 'Year of Friendly Exchanges', she added.
