Karachi Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo and some 10 provincial administrators were removed from their respective posts on Friday in what appears to be a massive Sindh government shuffle. According to sources, the decisions were made in light of the decisions made during a recently-held apex committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah here. Thebo will now be replaced by Mushtaq Mehar.
It may be recalled here that Thebo assumed the charge of AIG Karachi in January 2014 and he was given the task of maintaining law and order in the port city. Thebo will now serve as the chairman, anti-corruption department. Secretary Societies Shazar Shamoon, Administrator Karachi Saqib Soomro and Sindh Building Control Authority's Maznoor Kaka have also been removed from their respective posts. The deputy commissioners of Sanghar, Dadu, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas and Shikarpur have also been removed from their posts.
