Both Kohli and Sarfraz will have pressure to win in World Cup clash: Miandad
The Pakistan versus India match is always the crown jewel of any tournament and having the history and rivalry that goes beyond sports, Javed Miandad believes there is always pressure on both teams.
"Let's be honest, there is always pressure when India and Pakistan meet in the field of sport," said Miandad, who was part of Pakistan’s memorable 1992 World Cup campaign, quoted Sky Sports. "But as professional sportsmen, we all know that any anxiety or pressure that is placed on us before the game disappears once the first ball is bowled," he added.
The former captain, however, admitted that the skippers of both sides, Sarfraz Ahmed and Virat Kohli, are capable of handling the pressure, as both sides prepare to meet at the upcoming World Cup 2019. “There will be a lot of pressure on both Virat Kohli and Sarfraz Ahmed to win but both are professionals who will not let this sort of pressure affect their own game or that of their players," he said.
The 2019 World Cup is scheduled to begin on May 30 in England and Wales, with the much anticipated clash between Pakistan and India to take place on June 16, at Old Trafford.
