HANOI: Vietnam, the world's largest robusta producer, will export an estimated 109,000 tonnes, or 1.82 million bags, of coffee in February, down 40.8 percent from the same month last year, the government said on Thursday, slightly above market expectations.
The shipment in February brought coffee exports from Vietnam's 2014/2015 crop year to 536,600 tonnes (8.94 million 60-kg bags), a drop of 11 percent from a year ago, the General Statistics Office said in its monthly report.
The office revised up the export volume in January to 132,400 tonnes from an earlier projection of 120,000 tonnes.
Traders have forecast February's coffee exports to dip to 85,000-100,000 tonnes due to a long holiday and domestic hoarding.
The coffee crop year lasts between October and September.
