Flood protection walls constructed at D.I.Khan
PESHAWAR: The political administration of FR D. I.Khan has constructed flood protection wall at Khannak Kach area in a short period of time, which will benefit about 500 individuals of the area.
The flood protection wall is not only protecting areas of fertile farmland from erosion and crop damage but also improving the livelihood of inhabitants of the area and protecting houses of community members.
A press release issued by Directorate of Information, FATA Secretariat stated that due to seasonal flooding, properties, assets and livestock of the inhabitants of the areas were frequently damaged and the political administration prioritized uplift work to protect the properties and land of the people.
Moreover, the political administration also completed the construction of street pavement and drainage system at Mohallah Mattakzai, Khoi Bahara village in Drazinda tehsil.
The community thanked to the political administration for responding to their basic needs in a timely fashion and expressed the hope that the schemes would help the population's to ease day-to-day hardships.
In addition, they hope that such projects would help to increase their livelihood opportunities.
