Nearly all 25 accountability cases, clubbed earlier together, were ordered to be separated and re-listed according to their premises and reasons.
The order was passed by Chief Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui here on Monday while presiding over the Bench which included Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar.
The cases were separated at the request of the lawyers for the parties who said that clubbing of the cases would require continuous hearings spread over several days and might thus keep a large number of them waiting in the wings for their turn.
The bench decided to take up the appeal of Shafi Sehwani against his conviction for five years jail term and consigned the remaining cases to Fixture Branch for apportioning hearing dates.
Aitzaz Ahson had not concluded his arguments seeking Sehwani's release when the court rose for the day. He will resume his case on Tuesday.
