Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) labour wing showing unison with labour on May Day took out a procession from railway station to the Punjab Assembly, on Saturday.
A large number of PPPP workers including party legislators from provincial as well as national assembly including, Beelam Hassan, Samina Ghurki, Senator Anwar Beg, Uzma Bokhari, President PPPP Lahore, Mian Misbah-u-Rehman participated in 'May Day' rally of the party.
Qasim Zia head of PPPP Punjab speaking on the occasion stated that his party had always struggled for rights of masses in the country. 'The base of PPPP in fact lied deep-rooted in workers, tillers and other labourers. The PPPP was the only party whose formation was made to serve workers and down trodden of the country 'he added.
Qasim said the late chairman Zulifqar Ali Bhutto's slogan of Roti, Kapra and Makkan was slogan of masses and history laid evidence to the fact that, he was the only leader who had done major contribution to the cause of workers in Pakistan ', he added.
Abdul Qadir Shaheen President Labour wing of the party's Punjab segment addressing the rally severally criticised Industrial Relations Ordinance (IRO) and said changes in it need to be nullified.
Navid Chaudhry senior leader of the party speaking on the occasion praised sacrifices of workers of Chicago and said that his party always stood for the cause of workers in the country.
