A team of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will meet the representatives of Rawalpindi/Islamabad Moneychangers Welfare Action Committee on Thursday.
They will also meet the representatives of moneychangers in Lahore on Saturday.
The meeting is in continuation of the consultations between SBP and small moneychangers to settle down the issue of franchise amicably.
The SBP had directed the moneychangers to either form forex companies or get franchised with some forex companies by June 30.
The bank's order has met hard resistance from the small moneychangers who have serious reservations about new franchise system and wanted some other way out to continue with their business independently.
Rawalpindi/Islamabad Moneychangers Welfare Action Committee Chairman Saeed Rana told Business Recorder that franchise system was not acceptable to small moneychangers and its representatives would convey the same feelings to the SBP authorities.
Rana said that only 20 percent of the moneychangers were in a position to get franchised with the forex companies and the rest 80 percent may loose their source of living.
He said that the new franchise system would be resisted in all its forms.
