Tajikistan has sought Pakistan support for upgradation of textile sector and production of transformers.
The visiting Trade and Economy Minister of Tajikistan, Solieve Khakim, stressed the need for more economic co-operation during a meeting with Minister for Industries and Production Liaquat Ali Jatoi here on Saturday.
Deputy Minister of Trade and Economy Makhmudov Isrol and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan were also present.
Jatoi said that Pakistan has good quality of fruit and vegetables for export, which can be imported by Tajikistan. Both the countries should support each other to boost trade.
He assured that Pakistan would extend all out support to upgrade Tajik textile and other sectors.
Tajik Minister noted that economic relations are not at desired level with Pakistan which needs to be strengthened, and apprised that Tajikistan has 250 joint ventures with European and Western countries.
They also discussed other matters of mutual interest, setting up of joint ventures and exchange of business delegation to further improve the economic collaboration.
