Aurat Foundation organised a one-day capacity-building workshop on the topic of "Understanding the process of budget making and gender mainstreaming of budget" here on Saturday, in a bid to educate the women parliamentarians about the process of budget making.
Baqar Hussain, who conducted the workshop, apprised the women parliamentarians on public financial management.
He stated that educated females in Pakistan, particularly parliamentarians, social workers and other influential ladies, should focus on learning financial management.
"Understanding of basic concepts and their application is important for women parliamentarians, to develop a rational model for women uplift and they may convince the authorities to allocate more funds to those schemes where womenfolk can benefit the maximum," he added.
