The Pakistan Workers Confederation (PWC) has urged the government to raise the wages of the workers commensurate with high cost of living alike members of National Assembly and Federal Ministers in the next Federal Budget.
In a statement on Sunday, it also urged government to restore the suppressed rights of selection grade, move over and gratuity rate in the National pay scales 2001 and sanction the house rent allowance at all places at the rate of 50 percent of the basic pay as the rate of conveyance allowance should also be raised.
It also pointed out that the workers engaged in the private sector are getting Rs 2500 per month minimum wages, which requires to be commensurate with price hike raised and be fixed Rs 6000 per month.
It further vehemently demanded that the workers were being denied legal justice due to vacant posts of the Chairman and the Members of National Industrial Relation Commission for more than one year.
It reflected the apathy of the government towards labour issues and urged them to get filled up from the men of judiciary having integrity and professional competency in order to provide speedy and cheap justice to the working class.
