After the grand success of an International Conference on Investment Opportunities in Balochistan (ICIB - 2004) held in Quetta on May 8, the provincial authorities said a similar conference be commenced in Gwadar.
As the mega-event proved itself to be a prominent forum in promoting potential sectors of Balochistan for investment, the Balochistan governor has said a similar conference be commenced on Investment and Development in Gwadar, said a press release issued by E-Commerce Gateways, organisers of the May 8 conference in Quetta.
The International Conference on Investment Opportunities in Balochistan was organised by the Investment and Privatisation Ministry and the Board of Investment in collaboration with the Balochistan government and E-Commerce Gateway (Pvt) Ltd, Singapore.
The ICIB - 2004 conference offered investment opportunities to potential investors both domestic and foreign investors in Industrial Zones of Balochistan SME Sector's Opportunities and Incentives, logistics and mass transit, seaport, shipping, railway, coastal and land development, fuel & energy, mines and mineral, agro-based products, livestock and fish farming.
The international conference, the first of its kind, proved its mark as a large number of international and foreign investors flocked to attend the mega-event.
More than 250 local and foreign delegates and the top business representatives from China, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Turkey, Oman, United Kingdom, United States, Poland, Australia and Germany participated in various sessions of the Quetta Conference.
The conference which aimed to drive home, the investors who should see for themselves that Balochistan is a safe haven for investors was also visited by more than 10 companies in oil and gas that are already working in the province.
The speakers profile consisted of various delegates, both local and foreign that had arrived via special flights for the ICIB - 2004 Conference.
These prominent speakers enlightened the captive audience with the unexplored opportunities as well as the success stories of the companies, who have made investments in various projects in the province.
