Punjab government has recovered revenue of around Rs 0.6 million through open auction of attractive registration marks of vehicles for FSF series at Faisalabad on Thursday. The auction took place at the office of motor registering authority Faisalabad under the supervision of director excise & taxation Faisalabad and superintendent, excise & taxation department.
Official sources said here on Thursday that out of total 136 attractive registration marks of FSF series, only 39 numbers were contested and the highest bid of Rs 200,000 was received for FSF-1. FSF-786 fetched Rs 72,000, FSF-5 received Rs 16,000, FSF-7 gained Rs 20,000 and FSF-9 was sold at Rs 18,500.
Sources claimed that the provincial government is fetching millions of rupee revenue through open auction of attractive registration marks in the province. During the last two years the government had recovered revenue of around Rs 90 million through open auction of attractive registration marks for which credit goes to Secretary Excise & Taxation Sami Saeed who ensured transparency in the auction process, the sources said.
