Pakistan People's Party has announced that all public sector employees who have been removed from their jobs in the name of downsizing would be reinstated in service, if PPP comes into power. While addressing a Labour Conference here on Tuesday, leaders of PPP said that their party is committed to safeguard the interests of labourers and other poor segments of the society. They also criticised the economic policies of the present government.
Earlier in his telephonic address, Asif Ali Zardari, leader of the party said that political scenario of Pakistan has changed and PPP is returning to power shortly. He said that his party is fully aware of the problems confronting to the labour community. He made it clear that no one will be allowed to snub the rights of poor people.
He said that PPP always struggled for the rights of poor masses. If the national exchequer is full of dollars, why people are committing suicide, he questioned. He said that Benazir Bhutto would be elected as Prime Minister of Pakistan for the third time.
Addressing on this occasion, Jahangir Badr said that his party would implement the labour friendly policies in accordance with the teachings of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
Navid Chaudhry, Abdul Qadir Shaheen, Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan, Khalid Kharal and other leaders of party also spoke on the occasion.
