Federal Minister for Tourism, Dr G.G.Jamal has said that the current figures show that Tourism Industry is raising and more and more people are visiting Pakistan. He further stated that not only foreign tourists were coming to the country but also domestic tourism showed up ward movement. Luckily, awareness has come in local people and now they understand the importance of tourism and the people have started themselves looking after their natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, he added.
The basic reasons of the promotion of tourism is the better law and order situation in the country and due attention of the present government under the dynamic leadership of President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.
Because the present government attaches lot of importance to tourism and the ministry is very keen and taking practical steps to give boost to tourism industry like, giving facilities to tourists and easy procedural for getting visa, preservation of the sacred places of Non-Muslims, excavation of new sites and proper preservation of those sites which we already have, he stated. But promotion of tourism also depends upon private sectors and friendly attitude of the people.
People should adopt friendly attitude and entertain the tourists and look after the rich cultural heritage in order to attract more and more tourists particularly from Buddhist Countries. Because there are so many areas in Pakistan wherein tourism is their only source of income, he added.
So private sector and the people come forward and join hands with the government for the promotion of tourism industry, which is the need of the day.
We should keep in mind the countries like Thailand, Dubai and Caribbean's as a role model that how much they earn through tourism despite of the fact, not having so much potential in tourism.
We have everything for tourists but still we are not at par with other countries.-PR
