Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Exports Display Center Committee (EDCC) has decided to start work on the project of Export Display Center very soon, says a press release issued here on Wednesday. In a statement ICCI President Tariq Sadiq has said in the meeting of the Committee, it was decided to start construction of the center soon in future, the release added.
The President said committee also worked out various options to generate funds though banks, financial institutions, government as well as own resources to start this project and getting the services of best consultants and designers to build the display center on international standards. He observed that globalisation & WTO was going to be the biggest challenge for our exports, which needed to counter it.
He further said private sector should improve its efficiency to be competitive in price and quality.
Tariq said it was decided that a large portion of export display center would be allocated to export oriented industries from all over the country to display their export quality products for the introduction to foreign business delegations, diplomats and visiting dignitaries.
He said the center would be equipped with video conferencing facility, large conference hall for business meetings, auditorium, and complete floor for research and development. Training activities and workshops shall be arranged to make our industries aware about the latest marketing tools and techniques, quality and standards required for the international market, he added.-PR
