After the announcement of schedule for the LB polls by the government, rush of the computerised national identity card seekers has increased at all the Nadra Swift Registration Centers (NSRCs) in both Sialkot and Narowal districts.
CNIC seekers, mostly old-age women complaint that the Nadra officials were adopting harsh aptitude with the people, as there were no help desks at the offices for guiding them.
According to details, a rush of the people was being witnessed queuing outside the Nadra offices in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur, Shakargarh and Narowal for getting the CNICs.
Nadra officials confirmed that the rush of applicants was hampering the performance of the Nadra offices in both districts, due to short staff, which was unable to handle the situation effectively.
They said that this situation causing the inordinate delay in issuance of the computerised NICs to the applicants.
It was also learnt that the aspirant candidates of UC nazims and councillors were motivating the people of the rural and urban areas to have the Nadra urgent NICs so that they might be able to cast their votes in the coming LB polls.
Now the rural people, led by ex-nazims and ex-councillors, are visiting the nearest Nadra offices to seek CNICs.
This larger scale transportation of the CNIC seekers was creating a great rush at the Nadra offices, badly hampering the routine performance of Nadra officials and also creating difficulties for the people who wanted to get the CNICs in routine.
The CNICs seekers, including old women told newsmen that Nadra officials were adopting harsh aptitude with them, as there were no help desks at Nadra offices in Daska and Sambrial.
The old women said that whenever they asked for help, the concerned staff did not pay any attention to listen their problems.
When contacted, the Nadra's concerned authorities refused to give any comment in this regard.
People have urged the interior ministry and Nadra Chairman to prepare an effective strategy regarding the fast approaching LB polls for tackling this panic situation and establish separate facilitation counters at all the NSRCs to ease the people.
