US stocks edged higher on Thursday as investors kept a wary eye on energy markets, while gains in eBay Inc boosted technology shares. PepsiCo Inc shares rose 2.3 percent, to $56.35 on the New York Stock Exchange after the company said revenue rose to $8.18 billion from $7.26 billion.
Shares of eBay rose 5 percent, lifting the Nasdaq. The stock was up $1.96 at $40.89. The Dow Jones industrial average was up 14 points, or 0.14 percent, at 10,487.18. The Standard & Poor's 500 index was up 3.41 points, or 0.28 percent, at 1,220.30. The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index was up 12.32 points, or 0.58 percent, at 2,128.38.
