British-turn-Pakistani-turn-Indian singer Adnan Sami landed himself in deep water on Friday following two controversial tweets, in which he expressed his full support to the Indian government and its Army as tensions flared between the two countries following the recent border clashes.
Praising the 'illusional surgical strike' by India against Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC), he tweeted:
His laudatory tweet received a mixed response from both sides of the border, to which the singer tweeted again:
Emotions are at an all-time high due to strained relations between the two nuclear-armed arch rivals, and Sami’s tweets didn’t do anything else but further aggravate the situation.
It may be mentioned that Adnan Sami, who became an Indian citizen last year, had been severely criticized by his new countrymen over his citizenship.
