Federal Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has said that generous allocations have been made in the pubic sector development programme for the provision of civic amenities and utility services in the less developed areas.
He was addressing a delegation of Hisar Nehrri at Ziam in Charsadda District on late Sunday night. The development strategy of the current financial year gives more emphasis to the community oriented schemes envisaging electrification of small villages, supply of Sui gas, construction of roads and providing clean drinking water, health and education facilities.
The interior minister while criticising the MMA government in the NWFP, he said that the provincial government was not observing the principle of equity and justice in the utilisation of public funds.
He said that concentration of financial sources in the development of few selected districts have accentuated the level of economic disparity in different parts of the province.
Directing his critique against ANP, Aftab Sherpao said the leadership of this party had done merely lip service for the rights of Pukhtoons. He said that ANP did nothing for the welfare of the masses during their tenure of government in the past. Member, NWFP Assembly, Sikandar Hayat Sherpao also spoke on the occasion.
